The BCS meetings ended with some of college football’s biggest power brokers hyping themselves for committing to a long awaited playoff. BCS executive director Bill Hancock called it a “seismic change” for the sport. You can go ahead and stop patting yourselves on the back for something you should have done a long time ago. Hopefully now, you’ll decide your national champion on the field of play, just like everyone else does. By the way, they’re not there yet. They have committed to a four team playoff, but still have to decide how to pick those four teams, where they play the games and how they split up all the new dough. I’ll believe it when I see it. In the meantime, stop giving yourselves credit for something you still haven’t done, that should have been done years ago.
