Marlins Stab Their Fans In The Back (page 34706)
I know this is who the Miami Marlins are, and where they live, but this latest tear down is embarrassing. In fact, it’s a complete joke. Sending five key guys to Toronto and trimming $165 million dollars of their payroll is not prudent business; it’s a jam job of the highest order. They lied to their fans, taxpayers and politicians to get that embarrassing new ballpark built. They assured them, that while they had worked them in the past; it was going to be different this time. And then they pointed to the big name free agents they signed. They reminded their fans they even took shots at signing Albert Pujols and CJ Wilson. And hired one of the best managers in the game in Ozzie Guillen. It was a new era in South Florida. They had a plan. And were working it. They had a plan all right. A six month plan. And then they began to take a wrecking ball to it right at the trade deadline… before burning that house to the ground completely last night. And now the only guy left, Giancarlo Stanton is furious. Giancarlo818 tweeted, “alright I’m pissed off!! Plain & simple.” From one 818’er to another, you should be. And if you think you’re mad now, just wait until you lose 110 games next year. And considering how the aforementioned free agents were not given no trade clauses, you can go ahead and assume this was the Marlins plan all along. Memo to the Commissioner, Bud Selig: how many times are you going to let this franchise stab their fans in the back?
