Indianapolis Colt Cory Redding agrees with team owner Jim Irsay when he says he’s a lucky man for having had Peyton Manning for 14 seasons and now has Andrew Luck as the face of the franchise. The defensive end laughed when Jim Rome asked him how good Luck can be.
“This kid is going to be something spectacular down the road,” Redding said. “This is just the tip of the iceberg, but I’m telling you he is something great.”
Redding said Luck isn’t just talented and smart, he has a toughness about him that other greats have.
“He’s got that grit, that want to, that fight,” the defensive end said. “You don’t find too many players with it, but when you do you got something special, especially when he’s the trigger man.”
Redding said last season when the Colts were trailing late in a number of games, they saw what the rookie Luck was about.
“We came back like 8 games you know,” said Redding. “Our backs were against the wall, we showed our teeth. Luck has a dog in him.”
