One of the most exciting players in baseball just used one of the worst words in sports: “Knowingly.”

If somebody is dropping the K-Word, I can guarantee you they just failed a drug test. Dee Gordon did.

The Marlins infielder has tested positive for PED’s, and is suspended without pay for 80 games.

He had an incredible 2015 season, hit .333, won the NL batting title… So go ahead and fess up, Dee. Tell us you used PED’s because they work, because you wanted to play better, and you wanted that 50 million dollar deal you landed in the off season. You played dirty. But come clean. The floor is yours: “Though I did not do so KNOWINGLY, I have been informed that test results showed I ingested something that contained prohibited substances… I have been careful to avoid products that could contain something banned by MLB and the 20+ tests that I have taken and passed throughout my career prove this.”

Yeah right up until the 1 test you took and failed most recently proved your full of it.

And so is anyone who says they never knowingly juiced.

I have No idea how that testosterone got in my system! I was being so careful! No you weren’t’ because you got caught.

Laremy Tunsil aside, the word “knowingly” is the steroids equivalent of the words “I got hacked.”

The second you say “knowingly” – we all know you’re lying. It’s the go-to, Responding To a Fail Drug Test For Dummies excuse. Sure there were banned substances in my body… but hell if I know how they got there! Beats me! The body is a crazy thing.

They got there because you injected, rubbed, and pilled them in there. And you did it Knowingly.

And for the last time, even if I were to accept that you never knowing took, drugs, and I don’t… but even if I did, it doesn’t matter: body is temple: your body, your responsibility.

Especially if you’re a pro athlete and you make your living with your body: it’s your job to know exactly what you’re putting into it: do you really expect any of us to believe that you don’t.

So even if you didn’t know, you should have known… and you probably did.

At this point, hearing an athlete say I have never knowingly taken that drug is almost a reason to go, is such an insult to our collective intelligence. And you just went from winning a gold glove to getting a great gloss. Here’s what you should “know.” Henceforth- you are known as “P.E.Dee Gordon.”

See you in 80 games, Gordo.
