Jeffrey Sandusky, Jerry Sandusky’s son was charged yesterday with sex crimes involving two girls, more than five years after his father was first arrested on child molestation chargers. Jeffrey S. Sandusky, 41, was charged by state police and arraigned by a district judge in Bellefonte on 14 counts and jailed on $200,000 bail.
This is the same guy who was so supportive of his father and accompanied by his mother, Dottie, to his court proceedings. The same mother, who may or may not have known what heinous acts her husband committed in their basement. Either she knew and did nothing or somehow ignored everything. Either way, there’s no good place for her in all of this. Her husband is already serving what amounts to a life sentence for his despicable and heinous acts. And now on of her sons could be going down a similar abhorrent road and looking at a long stretch himself. In short, words don’t do justice for the amount of pain this family has caused. And apparently is still causing.
Because if these allegations are true, it’s hideous… And as infuriating as this is, I wish I could say it’s shocking. But it’s really not. Certainly we’re all appalled hearing this, but are any of us really that surprised? Not when another son says he was abused by Jerry. So it could be a situation where the cycle of abuse is continuing, but it’s hard to know. So it’s appalling, but tragically not surprising.
I’m not going to get into what he allegedly did; that’s story’s out there in you want to know. But its stomach turning. I would have been very happy to never mention the name Sandusky on this show ever again. Hell, in any conversation off air, ever again none of us want to hear about this story or this family ever again.
Most of all, the victims. But also a Baltimore Ravens announcer. He has the absolute misfortune of sharing the same as the father, Gerry Sandusky, but with a “g” not a “j”. And every time there’s news relating to that monster, this guy gets smashed on twitter. I understand everyone wanting to lash out against the Sandusky’s but you’ve got the wrong guy.
Again, not only are their names spelled differently, but think about this for a moment… why the hell would that felon have an active twitter account from prison. Right. He wouldn’t.
Again, it’s one of the worst stories ever; and the last thing I wanted to do was have to reset it. And I’d love to say I hope I won’t ever have to do it again. But I know I will.
