The Bears are going all in with Mike Glennon: at a reported $14.5m per year.
Question is, is this guy a legitimate starting quarterback in the NFL? And is he really that much better than what the Bears had in Jay Cutler.
I get that you can’t trust Cutty. Can’t trust him to stay healthy. And then even if he is, can’t trust him with the ball in his hand. But imagine being John Fox, and entrusting your job to Mike Glennon, a guy who hasn’t started a game since 2014. Because that’s the situation Fox is in; he needs Glennon to save his job.
So Fox better hope Glennon is the guy. And there’s no way to know if he is until you run him out there. Fox’s future is riding on a guy who is 5-13 as a starter in Tampa bay. Have fun with that, John.
