Death Row DC

Another win for DEATH ROW DC, as Markieff Morris has glossed the Wiz. Another monster game for John Wall — who is breaking ankles and snatching souls — back-to-back 32 point performances as the Wiz take the first two at home in DC against the Hawks.

And with Washington hosting their first home playoff series since 1979, and the Celtics looking left for dead as they head to Chicago down 0-2, The Wiz are poised to make some serious noise on the top side of the East bracket.

Watch out for Optimus Dime. Scratch that. Watch out for 2-Pac. Snoop. Dre and Sug,… Paul Milsap said Washington took them down with some “MMA” in game one, and then they out-toughed the Hawks again in another physical game that was tight until Bradley Beal went all heat check, scoring  16 in the final frame to help the Wiz pull away.

That might be the scariest back court in the East. Wall and Beal. And they might be the hottest team, too — after a 7 and 13 start to the season, Scotty Brooks’ squad won 49, and the first two of a first-round matchup I really, really liked.

With  Marcin Gortat bullying Dwight Howard on the block, and Beal finding his stroke, the Hawks had to feel like throwing the cherries on top of the team bus to get to the airport and the hell out of DC as quickly as possible.

The East is wide open. Toronto dealing with the Greek Freak, Cleveland still not playing any D. The Bulls treating Boston like the 8 seed. And the Wiz — Death Row DC — playing like bullies, with it all coming together for John Wall right now. He’s healthy. He’s got his shooting touch. He’s got jets like few others in the association. And he’s the best player on the court every time he laces them up —  mean-mugging Dennis Schroder last night with a death stare that would make you sleep with a light on.

The Wiz should have your attention. Because they just took a bat to the Hawks windshield on their way outta town.
