Look: I never said this would be easy and I never thought Anaheim would run right throw Edmonton the way they did Calgary.
But I didn’t know it would be the Ducks who would be taking the dumb penalties. Or having one of the worst breakdowns defensively that you’ll ever see from them late in the third period.
But to quote Rex Ryan. Here we are. Here we freaking are.
The Ducks are going to be fine. And they’re going to adjust and find a way to neutralize Connor McDavid and Edmonton’s speed and skill.
Mostly by punching someone in the face, which is exactly Ryan Getzlaf and the fellas were doing at the end of the game last night; and sending a message: that this could be a long series.
And that it’s definitely going to be a physical series. One game is not a series. And credit to Edmonton for coming in and ripping one in the Ducks’ house. But I’m still riding with Anaheim.
And they’re still going to win. Altogether now, kids!!. Say it with me!!: Go Ducks!!
