Someone spray-painted a racial slur on the front gate of LeBron James’ home in Brentwood.
And he stepped up and handled a very difficult situation as well as you could, saying quote, “racism will always be a part of the world, a part of America. That hate in America, especially for African Americans, is living every day.”
And said, while extremely unfortunate, if it helps to advance the cause and continue the conversation, that’s a good thing; even if it were to happen again.
That’s an unbelievable response. Plenty of athletes don’t want to take a stand, don’t want to touch social issues, don’t want to put themselves out there. Not LeBron. Not only is he comfortable doing it, he obviously feels he has a responsibility as well.
Hall of Famer on the court. Role model off it.
