It’s no secret the Cleveland Cavaliers are going through a rough stretch right now. And by rough stretch, I mean, they’re IMPLODING. Right before our eyes.

They’ve lost 9 of 12. And when it comes to the conference standings, they’re closer to ninth place than they are to first place. And they gave up 148 points at home to OKC on Saturday. Let me repeat that: they gave up 148 points. At home.

And I know what you’re thinking – it must’ve been a five overtime game. It was not. It was a zero overtime game. They gave up 148 points in 48 minutes and they did it the old fashioned way: with some of the worst defense the Association has ever witnessed.

According to Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, LeBron is s “privately acknowledging to those around him,” that the team’s situation “the worst it has been since he returned” UH-OH!!!!!

But, as the old saying goes, you can’t win an NBA title in January, so give them some time, and they’ll sort this out. Even better, they had a few days between Saturday’s humiliation and tonight’s game against the Spurs, so it was time to call a team meeting before yesterday’s practice.

Great idea. This is a roster of NBA champions, All-Stars, veterans, so just get them in a room together with head coach Ty Lue and GM Koby Altman and they’ll hammer this thing out…..EHHHHHHHHHHH!

Instead of hammering it out, they just hammered each other, allegedly. According to Woj, “several players challenged the legitimacy of Kevin Love’s illness that led him to leave Saturday’s loss to Oklahoma City early and miss Sunday’s practice.”

I’m sorry, WHAT?!? I never want to tell anyone to hit the panic button, but if you’ve reached “accusing teammate of faking an illness to get out of a game” stage, then it’s full-blown panic time. Especially when you gave up nearly 150 points in that game.

I didn’t think things could get worse than when the Cavs lost to the T-Wolves and Raptors by a combined 62 points two weeks ago. But I was wrong, because then they lost to the Warriors by 10 last Monday and then unnamed players immediately told the media about all the problems on the roster. That felt like rock bottom.

But yesterday, they broke out the pickaxes and jackhammers and went to work. According to Woj: “Several players were pushing for the Cavaliers’ management and coaching staff to hold Love accountable for leaving the arena before the end of Saturday’s game, and then missing Sunday’s practice”

Woj went on: The meeting was loud and intense, only calming down once Love spoke to those gathered in the room and “explained himself.”

Look, I don’t know whether Love was sick or not. But I know if guys are accusing him of faking being sick, that’s pretty ill. Every week, it seems there’s a new target of criticism in Cleveland. One week it’s Ty Lue, the next it’s Isaiah Thomas, and now it’s Kevin Love. And I’m not going to say Love is perfect, not by any stretch, but he’s playing a new position and all he’s done is be as productive as he’s ever been in Cleveland.

Again, I don’t know if Love is or isn’t healthy, but if that report is true, that locker room is seriously unhealthy. Forget the fact that they gave up nearly 150 points in a regulation game, if they’re doing this, that roster needs immediate surgery and a transfusion, STAT. For all the names that are thrown around: DeAndre Jordan, Lou Williams, Kemba Walker, the list goes on, I don’t know that there’s a trade that makes them a championship contender, but it’s starting to look like they have to make some sort of trade or they’ll kill each other before the end of season.
