Richard Sherman is disappointed in the way some of the 12’s are reacting to him signing with the 49ers. And I don’t blame the guy: “I love the fan base to death, and I loved playing there. It was such a great opportunity. I helped the organization get to a great place and stay there. But now it’s like I abandoned them. People are out there burning my jersey. Come on. I’m not the one who let me go. They let me go. I didn’t abandon anybody, Sherman told MMQB.
He’s exactly right. If you’re burning this guy’s jersey, that’s more about you than it is him. Anything to get anyone to look at you, right? And if it’s not about you, and it really is about him, it’s still about you. Look in the mirror and ask yourself why you not only were wearing another adult’s jersey, but why you’re burning it after you wore it for five years. He’s right. He didn’t abandon them. He didn’t jam you. And the team didn’t jam him. It’s business.
The guy is coming off two Achilles injuries, a surgery, is about to turn 30 and had a big price tag. They’re moving on from him. Turn and burn. Happens all the time in the NFL. If you understood that, you wouldn’t be burning his jersey. This guy didn’t do anything wrong, and he didn’t do anything to you. Actually he did, he gave you several unbelievable years, played the position as well as anyone in the league while he was there and helped your team back on the map. So get off this guy’s back. He didn’t leave them. They cut him.
And save this bullcrap about how jacked it is that he signed in the division. The guy can sign anywhere he wants. Again, they fired him. Of course, he signed with Frisco. They’re upcoming and he wants two shots a year at the team that broke him off. The Seahawks did what they had to do. Sherman did what he had to do.
Now some of you 12’s need to do what you have to do. Namely, put down the lighter fluid. Drop the blue tips and a get a freaking clue. This guy didn’t do anything to you except ball out. Every Sunday.
